Detectives continue to search for a suspect or suspects in an August 9 triple shooting that killed one woman and injured two others in Long Beach, police announced Wednesday.

At approximately 11:25 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of East Pacific Coast Highway on a report of a shooting.

When they arrived, officers found three woman with gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid until Long Beach Fire Department personnel took over.

One victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition and the two others were transported with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, Long Beach PD said.

On August 14, one of the victims succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. She was identified as Claudine Williams, 56, of Long Beach.

Gang detectives investigating the shooting said they believe the incident was not a random act of violence.

Video from the scene shared to the Citizen App website showed police officers combing the area surrounding a liquor store parking lot for evidence.

Suspect information, motive and other circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
