Echo Park Rising returns from Aug. 28 to Aug. 30. Alongside the weekend of music and events, there will also be plenty of specials from local restaurants and bars.

The Echo Park Farmers’ Market will kick off the event on the evening of Aug. 28 with live music starting at 4:30 p.m.Yoga-urt will give 15% off one item per person all day if you mention Echo Park Rising from 1 to 11 p.m.Combo A is offering its Combo A deal for $17, with a portion of proceeds going back to the Echo Park community.Cowboy Churro is popping up outside of Xēba Botánica starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.Cantiq is hosting a queer party with DJ sets and drinks from Skyduster Beer and Sun Boy.Rodeo Mexican Grill is extending their happy hour from 3 p.m. to close, and loyalty cards will get double stamps all week.Bacetti is hosting disco brunch on Saturday, Aug. 29 and live jazz brunch on Sunday, Aug. 30.

And The Semi-Tropic, Little Joy, The Short Stop, Dada Bar, Gold Diggers, Bar Bandini, The Douglas, The Echo and Sticky Rice will all host live music sets. Stay up to date on the Echo Park Rising Instagram for more.

What else is happening?

Boyle Heights—Picaresca Cafe is hosting its third latte art throwdown with The Pour Up LA on Friday, Aug. 21 starting at 6 p.m. All buy-in proceeds will be donated to Day Laborer Network, and there will be food from River Bed Bums and Camello Pita Pobloano.

Highland Park—“Don’t Dream It—Drink It.” Johnny’s Bar is hosting a midnight screening of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” on Friday, Aug. 21 with cocktail specials from Grey Goose, Patron, Angel’s Envy and more.

East Hollywood—Savor the slowdown of summer at Tabula Rasa on Saturday, Aug. 22 with wine and ice cream pairings and sorbet wine floats from Servet starting at 4 p.m.

Silver Lake—If you’re one of the many people getting into run clubs or if you like to walk and eat pizza, the LA Countdown Pizza Run & Walk Club on Saturday, Aug. 22 could be for you. Run or walk from La Sorted to Hot Tongue and enjoy a free slice at each. All ticket proceeds support Soccer Without Borders.

Virgil Village—Good Friend Coffee is hosting an industry party with Washed Up Coffee for Coffee Fest LA on Saturday, Aug. 22. Starting at 7 p.m., they’ll have free drinks thanks to Minor Figures, Mr. Black Spirits and Pixel Dust to enjoy along an evening of food, drinks, giveaways and music.

Highland Park—Amiga Amore and Speak Cheesey are joining forces on Thursday, Aug. 27 for a community pizza party with MexItalian creations, Korean shaved ice and, of course, sourdough pizza!

Silver Lake—We have Euro Summer at home at the Silver Lake Pool + Inn on Friday, Aug. 28. Join them for an evening of pasta dishes, cocktails, amaro tasting and dessert from Pasta Girlfriend Party starting at 7 p.m.

East Hollywood—The East Hollywood Neighborhood Council is bringing neighbors of Heliotrope Drive together for a block party on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ondo Coffee and GoGo Juice Bar will be serving up beverages for folks looking for finds at The Queer Mercado, the Goddess Mercado, Track 16 Gallery and RED Vintage Co.

Silver Lake—Oaktown Spice Shop is having a party on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 3 to 6 p.m. with oysters and poke from Shucks Oyster Co, macha crisp from Cuatro Mamas and free wine from Silverlake Wine.

Silver Lake—Amiguita is starting brunch service on Saturdays and Sundays at noon with plates of mangú and blackened salmon, shirmp po boys, Haitian diri ak pwa, arepas and a classic American egg breakfast.

Historic Filipinotown—Jōdō Sake Bar is soft opening on weekends from 5 p.m. to midnight with sake, small bites and beers on Temple Street.

Echo Park—Bill Addison reviewed A Tí for the Los Angeles Times earlier this month.

Echo Park—Television writer Hank Chilton plans to open the Ravine Club this fall in the former Button Mash space. The sports bar will serve wings, hot dogs, burgers, tacos and gluten-free options from chef Hugo Sanchez of Brown Soul Brewing. Co-founded with Dodgers fan group organizer Alex Soto, the bar aims to welcome fans of all teams. It will preview its food during Echo Park Rising on Aug. 29 and 30. LA Eater

El Sereno—Canyon Coffee is planning an October opening on Huntington Drive, where Grand Central Market owner Langdon Street Capital has acquired six parcels. The popular Echo Park roaster will join a new Highland Cafe outpost in one of the Beverly Hills firm’s properties. L.A. Material
