BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A threat involving Sing Lum Elementary School was deemed noncredible by Bakersfield police after an investigation, allowing the school to resume normal operations.
The Panama-Buena Vista Union School District said on Wednesday, August 19, in the afternoon, the school district was made aware of a threat made involving Sing Lum Elementary School.
The school district said law enforcement was immediately contacted and parents were notified of the threat.
According to PBVUSD, after investigating, the Bakersfield Police Department deemed the threat noncredible and cleared school to resume as normal. Parents were notified of the update.
In a release, the school district said, “We are thankful for the swift actions of the Bakersfield Police Department on this matter, the safety and security of students and staff remains the District’s highest priority.”
