Triple-digit heat returns to Kern County as cooling centers open in four areas

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Triple-digit heat is returning to Kern County, and cooling centers are opening their doors to give residents a place to escape the high temperatures.

Cooling centers were open today in Arvin, Frazier Park, Lake Isabella and at the East Bakersfield Veterans Building. The centers are open from 1 to 8 p.m. and are offering a safe place to beat the heat.

East Bakersfield Veterans Building – 2101 Ridge RoadArvin Community Center- 800 Walnut Drive

Kern River Valley Senior Center – 6405 Lake Isabella Boulevard
