The Giants didn’t need much at the plate to win in Game 2 on Wednesday, when Victor Bericoto had an RBI single in the fourth inning that held up as the game-winner. San Francisco started Matt Wilkinson, who was making his major league debut. He served as an opener, pitching two innings and giving up just one hit. Adrian Houser took over from there and pitched five scoreless innings to earn the win. Houser only gave up four hits to improve to 4-7. Parker Messick pitched a great start for Cleveland, but still earned the loss, falling to 9-8. Messick went 6.2 innings, giving up six hits and striking out 10 batters. Dylan Smith earned his third save, going two scoreless innings while only giving up one hit, and he struck out five.
