Sacramento police say a father of an 11-month-old child has been arrested and booked on one count of murder.
Police say on Aug. 15, officers responded to calls about an unresponsive 11-month-old inside an apartment near the 500 block of Rivergate Way. The child was taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead. 27-year-old Emari Thompson of Sacramento was detained by officers.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators took over the investigation. After reviewing the case and consulting with the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, police arrested Thompson and booked him on one count of murder.
The identity of the child was not released.
