Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office said emergency crews provided first aid to the pilot who sustained moderate injuries. According to deputies, the aircraft was reportedly attempting to take off when it ran off the side of the runway. As it left the runway, it struck large rocks, which may have caused the aircraft to flip over and land on its top.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) was notified and the incident remains under investigation.
