A 21-year-old woman was killed in a violent crash during a street race in Mission Viejo Thursday night that allegedly involved her younger brother, according to Orange County authorities.
Not only did the 21-year-old woman lose her life, but her younger brother, who was allegedly driving a different car, is now accused of being partly responsible for her death.
On Thursday night at approximately 9:41 p.m., deputies responded to the area near Los Alisos Boulevard and Mustang Run regarding a solo vehicle crash.

Investigators said two Inifinitis were street racing when one of the cars went off the road and into a tree.
A female victim, identified as 21-year-old Shalia Deciderio of Rancho Santa Margarita, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of that vehicle was transported to the hospital, where he is currently in critical but stable condition. He’s been identified as 20-year-old Jaime Rojas of Mission Viejo.
To add more pain for Deciderio’s family, the driver of the other car Rojas was allegedly racing at the time was identified as Deciderio’s younger brother, 20-year-old Aiden Deciderio. He remained at the scene following the crash.
Now he and Rojas are both facing potential charges of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence in Shalia Deciderio’s death.
Aiden Deciderio was arrested and booked Friday morning, and the other driver is expected to be booked after he’s released from the hospital.
