Last event’s results: 2-3UFC main cards, 2026: 89-48-1Jeisla Chaves vs. Carli Judice UFC Fight Night 285 preview
Chaves (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will look to remain undefeated in her sophomore UFC appearance. Her debut was a split decision win over Yuneisy Duben in June, which followed a contract-winning split decision over Sofia Montenegro on Dana White’s Contender Series last September.
Judice (6-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) enters on a three-fight winning streak. After dropping her debut by split decision to Gabriella Fernandes, she stopped Duben and Nicolle Caliari, followed by a unanimous nod over Juliana Miller.
Jeisla Chaves vs. Carli Judice UFC Fight Night 285 expert pick, prediction
Filling out the main card is a women’s flyweight fight between Carlie Judice and Jiesla Chaves.
Although these women are ever-improving their ground games and transitions, both Judice and Chaves are ultimately striking-first fighters.
Contentious scorecards aside, I was a huge fan of the heart, boxing and bodywork I saw from Chaves in her contest on the Contender Series. That said, I suspect that her more boxing-centric style matches up poorly with the savvy southpaw arsenal of Judice.
A true southpaw who incorporates all the tools that fighters from that stance should never leave home without, Judice appears to be quickly developing a building style that is effective in multiple phases.
I’m not sure if she’ll build to her usual final frame finishes considering Chaves’ toughness and skills, so I’ll officially pick Judice to get it done here via unanimous decision.
