Lamar King Jr.’s third hit of the game was a walk-off, sending high Single-A Fort Wayne to a 6-5 win in 10 innings over visiting Great Lakes.
The 22-year-old catcher drove in three runs on three hits, including his 11th double. King is hitting .225/.324/.309 in his first full year in the Midwest League.
King is ranked No. 27 in the system by MLB.com.
Center fielder Ryan Wideman (.567 OPS) went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and his 20th steal with Fort Wayne and 63rd this season in the low minors.
Shortstop Rosman Verdugo (.733 OPS) also hit a double.
Right-hander Bryan Balzer (4.78 ERA) allowed three runs on three hits and four walks in 3⅔ innings in the start.
Fort Wayne is 50-67.

Padres 9, Phillies 3: The Gold affiliate won two of its three games in pool play to advance to the Dominican Summer League finals. DH Sebastian Nadales doubled twice and drove in four runs in Saturday’s 9-3 win over the Phillies. The best-of-three semifinals begin Monday against the Giants.
