The City of South Pasadena will host two upcoming community meetings to provide residents with updates on the Huntington Drive and Fremont Avenue Corridor Improvements Project.

Funded by Metro, the project is intended to close active transportation gaps by introducing bicycle facilities, improving sidewalks and upgrading traffic signals to enhance safety, accessibility and multimodal connectivity.
The Fremont Avenue corridor extends from Columbia Street to Alhambra Road, while the Huntington Drive corridor runs from Alhambra Road to Garfield Avenue.
The City Council approved the project’s design concepts in May and June 2026 following presentations by City staff and project engineering consultant Kimley Horn. Before reaching the City Council, the original design concepts were reviewed by the public during a series of community meetings held in early 2026. The project team modified the concepts based on public feedback.
As the project moves through the design phase, residents can attend either of two community meetings:
Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, 6–7:30 p.m. — Library Community Room, 1115 El Centro St., South Pasadena
Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, 6–7:30 p.m. — South Pasadena Middle School auditorium, 1500 Fair Oaks Ave., South Pasadena
The meetings will provide updates on the corridor design and highlight specific elements proposed along both corridors. Attendees will also have opportunities to ask questions, review project displays and share feedback.
