You might have noticed some new faces at The Fresno Bee lately working hard to bring you the latest news and information in Fresno and the Central Valley.
Gagandeep Singh recently joined The Bee as our new Service Journalism Reporter providing readers with actionable information to help navigate daily life and make informed choices. Singh also joins our team covering immigrant communities and related issues in the Central Valley.
“I have been following the Bee’s coverage since 2022 during my first visit to the United States, and was impressed by its investigative reporting in California,” Singh said. “It’s a great place to pursue journalism for a reporter like me who has a passion for field reporting.”
He added, “I’m super excited to write stories covering service journalism, enterprise reporting, and the South Asian diaspora here in the Fresno region.”
Singh began his journalism career in India, where he reported for BBC Indian languages services and Hindustan Times—one of India’s leading English newspapers. In 2022, he received the Alfred Friendly Press Partners fellowship from the Missouri School of Journalism, during which he reported on federal court cases involving FBI investigations for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He later earned a degree in politics and global affairs from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in 2025.
Recent stories for The Bee include new public school rankings in Fresno County and a story about a Punjabi Fresno trucker’s 30 years on the road featured in a new book.
