The California Highway Patrol is warning California residents to be on the lookout for drugs disguised as children’s vitamins or candy.
CHP officers recently seized drugs shaped like colorful treats pressed into cartoon shapes. Some of the seized drugs appear to look like Minions from the “Despicable Me” movie franchise. Tests revealed that the candy-like objects contained methamphetamine.
The drugs were found in Trinity County, located in rural Northern California.

“Parents and caregivers, please remind children never to eat unfamiliar candy, gummies, vitamins, or pills, and keep all medications and other substances secured and out of reach,” CHP’s Trinity River office said. “If you discover a suspicious substance, keep children and pets away and contact local law enforcement.”
