A few weeks ago, the Bee listed high school football players who transferred.
Since then, numerous updates have emerged regarding their playing status.
Wide receivers Julyen Scott and AJ Williams transferred to Clovis West. The Central Section office ruled that Scott must sit out the first five games, while Williams was denied the chance to play for the Golden Eagles.
Williams, a senior and a Fresno State commit, could return to Hanford or appeal the ruling.
Scott will be eligible to play starting Sept. 23, in time for the Tri-River Athletic Conference openers.
Former McLane standout quarterback Vernon Lacy was denied eligibility May 20, but a second appeal has been submitted.
Edison coach Johnny Sears said, “nothing has changed, and we are still fighting, exhausting all options until we have none.”
Losing Lacy would be a significant blow to Edison.
Here is a list of other known players who transferred with the latest updates: SOP means sit-out period; limited means eligible for non-varsity competition in any sport they played in the previous 12 months.
