FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Eleven people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence during a DUI checkpoint held on Saturday.

The checkpoint ran from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. at Cedar and Gettysburg Avenue.

Authorities said 345 vehicles were contacted during the 6-hour checkpoint.

In addition to the DUI arrests, 34 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle without a license or with a suspended or revoked license.

Checkpoint locations are selected based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes.

The next DUI enforcement operation is scheduled for this Saturday, with another DUI checkpoint planned.

Funding for the Aug. 22 checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
