Thousands of Long Beach customers of Southern California Edison were without power Sunday evening.

The outage was reported at 6:40 p.m. Sunday and boundaries were west of Quincy Avenue, east of Alamitos Avenue, north of Ocean Boulevard and south of Seventh Street.

Media reports indicated more than 26,000 customers were initially without power. As of 11:26 p.m. Sunday, Edison reported that a field investigator had determined the necessary repairs and a repair crew was on the way. Edison also reported that 17,248 customers remained without power.

There was no estimated time for power to be restored.
