SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento police are responding to reports of a disturbance involving a man with a possible firearm in Oak Park.

The Sacramento Police Department says the incident began just after 6:15 p.m. in the 3500 block of 44th Street.

The suspect is inside a residence, and officers are working to make contact with the person, according to police. Additional people are believed to be inside the shared residence.

Police say, as of 8:40 p.m., crisis negotiators and SWAT officers have been deployed to encourage the suspect to surrender peacefully.

Police say it does not appear to be a hostage situation at this time.
