BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — According to Kern County Public Health, the Pho Hut restaurant on California Avenue is closed due to a “severe vermin infestation” after roaches were found inside.
According to the Violation Report, the complaint inspection was conducted on August 20, 2026, with a score of 74%.
The report said that when they arrived, multigenerational German cockroaches were seen inside the facility, on a food preparation surface, and on the floors and walls of the food preparation area.
According to the report, the facility was issued a closure.
Pho Hut is located at 5404 California Avenue, near Lennox Avenue.
Before the August inspection, the previous inspection was held on June 25, 2026, with a 91% inspection score.
