(FOX40.COM) — A man was arrested Tuesday more than one year after his 4-month-old child died after being brought to a Sacramento fire station, police said.
The Sacramento Police Department responded to a fire station in the 1700 block of West El Camino Avenue on Aug. 14, 2025, after reports of an unresponsive infant who was “brought” there, police said in a news release Wednesday.
The 4-month-old was taken to a hospital, where they died. Detectives launched an investigation into the homicide.
Investigators identified 22-year-old Victor Maurice Weaver of Sacramento as a suspect in the infant’s homicide and arrested and booked him into the Sacramento County Main Jail on Tuesday. According to police, Weaver is the father of the victim.
Weaver is not eligible for bail, according to jail records. He is scheduled to appear in Sacramento County Superior Court on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
The victim’s identity has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
