Federal agents served search warrants Tuesday on three drug rehabilitation centers — including one each in Macomb and Oakland counties — but aren’t disclosing why or what they were looking for.

The FBI raided three local offices of Quality Behavioral Health centers on 10 Mile Road in Eastpointe, on Owendale Drive in the area of Rochester Road and Interstate 75 in Troy, and in Detroit. The centers are reportedly part of a $21 million nonprofit organization that services drug addicts.

A spokesperson for the agency said agents were involved during a law enforcement activity at the locations, but would not specify what was named in the search documents.

“I can confirm that members from the FBI in Michigan were present earlier this morning, August 25, 2026, in Detroit, Troy and Eastpointe, conducting law enforcement activities,” Jordan Hall, a public affairs officer for the FBI in Detroit, said in an email, adding: “There was no  threat to public during that time.”

According to its website, Quality Behavioral Health Inc. is a Michigan based non-profit corporation, licensed by the State of Michigan and accredited by CARF International and The Joint Commission. Services include detoxification/withdrawal treatment, inpatient and outpatient treatments, mobile methadone units, and recovery housing.

State business registry records list Naveed Syed as the owner. His attorney, Arthur Weiss of Farmington Hills, said Syed has not been arrested.

“Mr. Syed has not been charged, has not been arrested,” Weiss said. “He looks forward to this matter being cleared up as soon as possible.”

Video footage of one of Tuesday’s raids was posted on the Metro Detroit News Facebook page. It shows several agents and police officers with their guns drawn breaking down the door and entering a center.

Quality Behavioral Health’s website lists nine centers for withdrawal management and recovery. In addition to the Macomb and Oakland county sites, others include Sterling Heights, Ludington, Inkster, Manistee, and three in Detroit, according to its website.

Company officials did not immediately respond to phone calls and an email message requesting comment.
