WASHOE COUNTY, Nev. — According to the Sacramento Coroner’s Office, an individual has died from injuries related to the Hawk Fire.
The Public Information Officer with the coroner says that they received a death report for an individual by the name of Hayde Medina-Valiente.
They confirmed Medina-Valiente’s injuries were from the Hawk Fire.
They say that they are working with UC Davis Medical Center, who also confirmed the information.
News 4-FOX 11 reached out to Hayde Medina-Valiente’s family. They confirmed that she passed away Wednesday from her injuries.
She was 83-years-old. She would have been 84-years-old on September 12.
Her family provided News 4-FOX 11 with this statement.
“She always cared for others more than herself. She always made sure others were fed before herself. She was a wonderful woman of God and always tried to spread God’s love whenever she had the chance. She had incredible strength through the worst situations and a comedian at heart. She never failed to make anyone feel loved or welcome.”
