BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 53-year-old man was arrested in connection with three sexual assault investigations spanning from 2017 to 2023, and Bakersfield police are asking potential additional victims or anyone with information to come forward.
The Bakersfield Police Department said on Wednesday, August 26th, 2026, detectives with BPD’s Special Victims Unit arrested 53-year-old Jose Manuel Solis Banuelos pursuant to an arrest warrant related to multiple sexual assault investigations.
Police said the investigations involved three separate reported incidents that happened in Bakersfield between 2017 and 2023.

Solis Banuelos was arrested on suspicion of multiple counts of kidnapping to commit rape, forcible oral copulation, forcible sexual penetration, rape by force or fear, and assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
Detectives are seeking to identify anyone who may have had a similar encounter with Solis Banuelos or who may have information relevant to this investigation.
