BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Adventist Health Bakersfield announced opportunities for children to get free immunizations throughout the month of September.

The free mobile clinics are available to children under the age of 18 who are uninsured, enrolled in Medi-Cal or are of American Indian or Native Alaskan descent. Those enrolled in Medi-Cal must show a Medi-Cal card at the clinic.

Parents with children older than 5 can make an appointment by calling 661-869-6740. Children five years old or younger don’t need an appointment.

Children under the age of 5 and their siblings will get priority due to grant funding from First 5 Kern, according to Adventist Health.

Free hemoglobin testing is also available for children and expectant or postpartum mothers, Adventist Health said. A WIC, school or doctor’s referral is required.

Tuesday, Sept. 1: CMIP Office (appointment only) from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 2: Albertson’s parking lot at 1520 Brundage Lane from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 3: Apple Market parking lot at 3815 Niles St. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 8: Greenfield Family Resource Center parking lot at 5400 Monitor St. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 9: Kern County Department of Human Services parking lot at 100 E. California Ave. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 10: CMIP Office (appointment only) from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 15: Walmart Wasco parking lot at 401 Central Ave. from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 16: Adventist Health Bakersfield parking lot at 2801 Chester Ave. from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 18: CMIP Office (appointment only) from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 21: Kern Christian Center parking lot at 4701 Gosford Rd. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 23: New Life Church parking lot at 4201 Stine Rd. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 24: CMIP Office (appointment only) from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 29: CMIP Office (appointment only) from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Mobile clinics will close between 11:30 a.m. and noon, but on the third Wednesday of the month, clinics will close between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., officials said.

Registration may close 30 minutes before closing times, according to Adventist Health. Immunization cards need to be brought for all visits.
