Big rig dangles off bridge on I-80 after crash near the California-Nevada line
FLORISTON, Calif. —
A solo big rig crash led to the closure of eastbound Interstate 80 at near Truckee on Friday for several hours, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP said the big rig lost control on a bridge near Floriston in Nevada County, around 10:45 a.m., and the cab went over the bridge.
The driver was ejected and hit the embankment below, leading to major injuries, CHP said.


Traffic was first held at Hirschdale and then Overland Trail.
As of 4 p.m., one lane was back open.


Showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected in the Sierra on Friday.
