Woman crashes alleged stolen SacRT vehicle in Sacramento’s River Park neighborhood
SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
A woman is in custody after she allegedly stole a SacRT vehicle and crashed it in Sacramento’s River Park neighborhood on Friday night, according to officials.
The Sacramento Police Department said a SacRT SUV was reported stolen before 7:30 p.m. in the 6500 block of Q Street. Officers found the vehicle and attempted to stop it, leading to a pursuit.
The chase ended when the suspect crashed into a parked car near Carlson and Sandburg drives.
Police said the woman refused to get out of the car, but was eventually detained.
KCRA 3’s Anahita Jafary was told by a SacRT worker that he was working nearby and parked his car before a woman came up and stole the vehicle.
One car is completely smashed and another got slightly crushed too, according to Jafary. The SacRT vehicle was smashed with the front end in bad condition.
Police said no injuries were reported.
