Kemani Bass rushed for over 120 yards and scored three touchdowns, and the No. 1 Patriots improved to 2-0.

The game was tied at 13-13 at the end of the first quarter before the Patriots scored 30 straight point.

“Kemani Bass is doing a lot of great things for us weighing in at 131 points,” Oakland coach Kevin Creasy said. “He’s tough as nails and one of the best leaders of the team.”

Jacob Vaughn added 75 yards and two touchdowns and 75 yards receiving.

The Patriots open region play Friday at home against Smyrna.

“They have a really proud football program,” Creasy said. “They’ve got a 50-year-old stadium that holds 7,000 on the home side. There were 7,000 fans on their side. It was a packed house and hopefully we be packed (Friday) when we get home.”

Riverdale 45, Father Ryan 3

After struggling offensively last week at Knoxville Catholic, the No. 3 Warriors passing game exploded in Friday’s win.

Quarterback Gavin Hampton threw for over 300 yards and four touchdowns. Sophomore receiver Luke Tritch had over 150 yards receiving and two touchdowns, and senior and Auburn commitment Brylan Oduor had over 130 yards and two touchdowns.

“The guys bounced back,” Riverdale coach Will Kriesky said. “Father Ryan is a much-improved team.

“We had some unnecessary penalties, but I thought the players handled everything exceptionally. They did a good job executing the game plan. There was no lull from the previous week.”

Blackman 47, Cane Ridge 0

Micah Nance went over the 100-yard mark rushing and scored two touchdowns as the Blaze improved to 2-0.

Wide receiver Brycen Mitchell had almost 100 yards receiving.

Eagleville 35, Community 0

Benton Fox threw for 121 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 41 and three touchdowns to lead the Eagles to the road victory.

Brooks Spence had eight carries for 67 yards, and Brigham McClaran had eight carries for 57 yards. Ridley Sheppard had three receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Aaron Fearns had four tackles, a sack and forced a fumble.

PCA 28, Cannon Co. 17

Quarterback Nate Lamb tossed four touchdown passes, and the Lions improved to 2-0 with the solid road victory.

Jacob Meier had and Kenan Wilson each caught a touchdown pass.

Franklin Grace 16, MTCS 7

The Cougars struggled to get into a rhythm offensively as they dropped 1-1 on the season.

Tailback Alvin Bangura rushed for 100 yards and MTCS’ only touchdown.
