It’s a dreamy and creamy cuisine with endless possibilities, though plenty of fans stick to the classic interpretations. The California Avocado Festival, a free-to-enter extravaganza that is all about the alligator pear, in addition to a line-up of great bands, embraces all types of guac-a-tude, as well as other offbeat interpretations of avo-themed eats. The Carpinteria party, which unfurls in the heart of the beachside town, has become an early-October staple for both people seeking out a decadent dip (or two or three) as well as anyone who likes free tunes presented live.
OCTOBER 2, 3, and 4… are the 2026 dates, and “Peace, Love, and Guacamole” remains the easy-breezy, good-vibes-only call to action. Over 60 bands are expected to appear and at least 15 food vendors, so making a day of it in downtown Carp is a terrific plan. If you do want to be in the snacky swing of things, you can enter the guacamole contest; just be sure to register ahead of time via the festival site.
