A 19-year-old man suspected of murder in a stabbing during an altercation in a Beverly Hills alley with another man has been taken into custody, police said Monday.
Officers responded about 11:40 p.m. Sunday to a report of a fight in an alley in the 400 block of North Palm Drive, near Beverly Boulevard, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department.
Officers found a man suffering from a neck wound and rendered aid before he was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
The other man, a Beverly Hills resident, was also injured and taken by Beverly Hills Fire Department paramedics to a hospital for treatment and evaluation.
Investigators later identified him as 19-year-old Conoray Lawantara, who was taken into custody on suspicion of murder.
Police said the incident is believed to have been isolated and no one else was involved.
