FCC PresidentFresno City College President Denise Whisenhunt will present an exciting update on California’s first community college at her first State of the College on Friday, September 4, 2026.  The event will begin with breakfast at 7:15 a.m. in the Old Administration East Courtyard, followed by her address at 8:00 a.m. in the OAB Auditorium.

This year marks a new and exciting period of growth for Fresno City College, starting with the inaugural class of 29 Dental Hygiene students earning their bachelor’s degree at the 2026 Commencement Ceremony. Join FCC President Whisenhunt as she gives a compelling progress report of the college that will contribute to the expansion of the community and economy.

The State of the College Address will also include an update on college goals and strategic initiatives for the coming year and a review of college accomplishments from this past year.

Joining President Whisenhunt will be members of her leadership team: Dr. Lisa Geatje, Vice President of Instruction; Michelle Smith, interim Vice President of Student Services; Daniel Moore, Vice President of Administrative Services; and Dr.   Ghada Al-Masri, Vice President of Educational Services & Institutional Effectiveness.

The President will also present four Ram Champion Awards to people and groups who have worked ardently to move the college’s mission forward and serve the students of Fresno City College.
