OAKLAND, Tenn. (WMC) – The mayor of Oakland, Tennessee, is facing criminal charges after he was arrested Monday.
George Adrian Wiggins was booked on criminal conspiracy to commit theft of property, alongside his son Thomas Wiggins and a woman, Isabella Marino.

The three are accused of planning and stealing numerous campaign signs.
On August 6, police were notified that a group of “No Wiggins” signs were stolen from West Junior High.
On August 12, police received a flash drive showing footage of the signs being stolen, with two vehicles pulling up to the school, several people cutting the signs and loading them into the back of their vehicle.
One of those vehicles was later spotted at McDonald’s and pulled over for having tint darker than the legal limit.
The woman in the vehicle told police that Oakland mayor Adrian Wiggins told her she would be paid for removing the yard signs.
Wiggins allegedly went to her place of work, Sonic, and paid her. Wiggins also reportedly told her to lie about the incident and said he had a “good lawyer” if they were to get in trouble.
Wiggins declined to comment on his arrest.
All three are out on a $2,500 bond.
