JOSH HARRIS, OWNER QUIK DOG
This week KCBS Foodie Chap Liam Mayclem meets up with Bar legend (Trick Dog) & entrepreneur Josh Harris at QUIK DOG in Mission Rock, San Francisco.
“ QUIK Dog is rooted in my experience as a kid with my parents, going to places like Doggie Diner, Clown Alley, and Bill’s place. I want Quick Dog to be a place where families feel really comfortable, parents can have a cocktail and the kids a soda and of course ALL enjoy great food”, says Josh.
This may be the best fast food spot in San Francisco right now. Though named QUIK Dog, this joint in Mission Rock is focused on items beyond the traditional hot dog;
“We have a couple chicken sandwiches, a smash burger, Baja fish tacos, our famous kale salad, nuggets, mini corn dogs. Importantly, milkshakes with ice cream from Mitchell’s ice cream” says Josh.
On Sunday’s from 5pm to 8pm kids get a complimentary soft serve when parents buy a meal. On game days expect to be greeted by the QUIK Dog mascot, he’s there to pose for photos for the kids and the kids in all of us.
Other MUST HAVE items include:
Qd Chicken Deluxe: “in France they call it a Chicken Royale with cheese”
Fish & Chips: “crispy all the way around”
Baja Fish Tacos: “life’s a beach”
Shakes: “it’s Mitchell’s, baby!”
Special mention for:
French Fries: “potatoes so nice we fried them thrice” Thrice-cooked Kennebec potatoes, and Doggy sauce.
As for the cocktails, all knock outs;
Strawberry Margarita: Milagro Silver Tequila, Alma Finca orange liqueur, strawberry, lime, salt
Daiquiri Colada: Probitas rum, Planteray coconut rum, lime, pineapple
