(FOX40.COM) — A man was shot Tuesday night in Sacramento, officials said.

Just before 6:30 p.m., officers with the Sacramento Police Department responded to reports of a shooting near Northgate Boulevard and Patio Avenue in the South Natomas neighborhood.

Upon arrival, officers found a man with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is currently in stable condition, Sacramento police said.

Roads were briefly closed in the area but will reopen shortly.

The suspected shooter fled the scene before officers arrived. Police currently suspect the incident to have been a drive-by shooting, Sacramento police said.
