A man was arrested in connection with a string of destructive burglaries in Long Beach.
Long Beach police said the suspect, Raymond Edward Billingsly, 34, of Long Beach, was reportedly involved in at least six recent break-ins over the last two weeks.
In each incident, detectives said the suspect would shatter a window of the business or a vehicle before stealing property and fleeing.
Police believe Billingsly is responsible for burglaries at:
10/26 – 420 Cherry Avenue – Commercial Burglary
10/26 – 2201 Lakewood Boulevard – Commercial Burglary
10/28 – 913 E Wardlow Road – Commercial Burglary
11/1 – 2211 E 7th Street – Commercial Burglary
11/2 – 2841 E Anaheim Street – Commercial Burglary
11/2 – 2700 block of Spaulding Street – Vehicle Burglary
On Nov. 3, while patrolling, police spotted the Billingsly near Anaheim Street and Dawson Avenue where he was taken into custody. Officers had recognized him from security footage as the alleged burglary suspect.
He was arrested for burglary, possession of burglary tools and a probation violation and is being held without bail.
No further details, including the suspect’s booking photo, were released. The cases will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
