The bridge that leads us from summer to autumn is flavorfully festooned with all sorts of fantastic foods, including those vittles that represent each season with flair.

The burger, though, is a true summer-into-fall stalwart, a grill-ready favorite that is still a-sizzle as September reaches its final stretch, at least around (mostly) sunny Southern California.

It’s a prime moment for a prime party that honors well-crafted patties, soft buns, and all of those creative toppings, as well the places that so expertly excel in the art of burgerdom.

Burger Week in Orange County does just that, and it does it in a big way: Nearly 70 restaurants across the region will join the 2026 event, which takes patty-tastic place from Sept. 20 through 26.

Prices begin at $10, but there are a few luxury menus, which are cocktail-centered, for $30 and $35.

Other Burger Week price points run from $15 to $25.

On the menus, which truly run the gourmet gamut?

Eureka! in Irvine is serving a Fresno Fig Burger with fig marmalade and other goodies, while Lorena’s Cali Burger — think pepper jack and a host of tasty toppings — is the selection at Native Son in Santa Ana.

“The popularity of the burger is evident in the incredible number of restaurants participating in Burger Week,” said Pamela Waitt, president of the OC Restaurant Association and founder of Burger Week.

“Beyond celebrating the creativity of Orange County chefs, Burger Week is about getting out, gathering around the table and enjoying life together.”

“Restaurants are where we connect, celebrate and make memories, and this is one more delicious reason to dine out.”

This is how we bid goodbye to summer and embrace all of fall’s robust spirit: By raising a burger high at a favorite Orange County restaurant, and maybe a cocktail, too, depending upon where we’ve chosen to chow down.
