(FOX40.COM) — A Sacramento woman was convicted of first-degree murder for the 2018 shooting of a man in Oak Park, the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.
According to officials, Julisha Douglas was convicted of the murder on Sept. 2, 2026.
On Jan. 14, 2018, 60-year-old Michael Craig was sitting in his car when officials said he and Douglas got into a verbal altercation, after which Douglas shot Craig in the head.
A resident recognized the shooter as Douglas after surveillance video of the shooting was released and contacted law enforcement. Officials said that the resident reported that Douglas may have been looking for revenge as she believed Craig was involved in her father’s death.
Investigation revealed that Douglas and her vehicle were in the area at the time of the murder, officials said. Law enforcement also found social media posts from Douglas claiming she wanted revenge for her father’s death.
Douglas’s sentencing is set for Nov. 20. She faces a maximum sentence of 75 years to life.
