BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying a man accused of crawling under a car, puncturing the gas tank, and stealing gas.
Police said on Friday, August 28th, 2026, at around 10:15 p.m., the suspect was caught on video surveillance crawling under the victim’s vehicle and puncturing the gas tank in order to steal gas.
Police said the victim’s vehicle was parked in the Home Depot parking lot on Gosford Road.
The suspect is described as a man in his 30’s and with a slim build. He was wearing a blue baseball hat, white t-shirt, green or gray shorts, and blue athletic shoes.
