BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying a man accused of breaking a residential flagpole and stealing the U.S. Flag.

Police said on Monday, August 10th, 2026, the suspect allegedly broke a residential flagpole in the 1100 block of South Chester Avenue and stole a United States of America flag.

The suspect is described as a man, wearing a blue t-shirt, tan shorts, tan shoes, a cloth covering his head, and carrying a blue and white backpack.
