(FOX40.COM) — Four people were hit by gunfire in Sacramento early Sunday morning.
Granite Regional Park became a crime scene after police found three women with gunshot wounds around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
FOX40 went to the park and spoke with long-term Sacramento residents about this weekend’s violence.
“I try to avoid walking around at night, because things can get pretty scary real quick, real fast,” one resident, who’s lived in the city for about 21 years, said “It’s crazy. People just do whatever. It’s not GTA in real life, it’s real life.”
Two of the victims were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Later, officers responded to a crash near the intersection of Folsom Boulevard and State University drive. They found a man with at least one non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Broken glass, car parts and splatters of what appeared to be blood still lined the street Sunday afternoon, just steps away from Sacramento State’s campus.
While Sacramento Police said Sunday morning’s crash was related to the shooting, they cannot confirm whether these overnight rounds of gunfire were related to a call of shots fired by Sacramento State’s Parking Structure 3, near the school’s stadium during a football game just hours before, around 7:15 p.m.
Teo Larson and Ethan Mannion were there Saturday night when students received an alert saying to shelter in place.

“I got a notification my phone, everyone at the same time got the same notification,” Mannion said. “Everyone was kind of worried, ‘What happened?’ and we saw [it was] right next to the stadium. Didn’t really hear anything, but people were a lot of worried.”
The university sent FOX40 an update Sunday afternoon saying, “Per the Sacramento State Police Department, at this time, there is no correlation between the shots fired call last night in Parking Structure 3 on campus and the shooting victim calls at Cucamonga/Ramona Avenue and Folsom Blvd/State University Drive.”
These incidents remain under investigation. No suspect information has been released at this time.
Sacramento State Police are leading the investigation into the shots fired incident on campus. The Sacramento Police Department is investigating the shooting at the park.
