HANFORD
Crumbl Cookies, the American bakery franchise chain known for its oversized, gourmet cookies and weekly rotating menu, has closed its Hanford location. It was the first and only store in Kings County.
The locally owned and operated cookie store at The Marketplace Shopping Center permanently closed last week after five years in business. A “This location is closed” sign was posted on the door asking customers to visit the company’s website, crumbl.com, to find the nearest store.
Crumbl did not respond for comment when reached out about the closure.
Management announced the closure on social media, thanking the community and local schools for years of support.
“It comes with a heavy heart (and a whole lot of tears) to announce that crumbl in Hanford has closed its doors,” said a post on Instagram on Aug. 24. “Over the last 5 years it has been our greatest honor to have served this amazing community, partnered with the soup kitchen, fundraised with schools and clubs, volunteered time to different community groups, and donated to some amazing causes!”
It is not clear how many employees were affected by the store’s closure.

The Hanford location was one of nine Crumbl franchises stores in the area, including three in Fresno. Other locations include Visalia, Tulare, Clovis, Madera, and Merced, under different ownership.
Crumbl opened its first location in 2017, in Logan, Utah, and has more than 1,000 locations worldwide.
