Here are Oakland County’s top 10 football teams following the second weekend of the 2026 season:

1. Detroit Catholic Central (2-0 D1) — Gideon Gash continues to make his case as the state’s top player. He had over 150 receiving yards and three TDs in Friday’s 56-14 beating of Davison on Friday, bringing his total up to five on the year.

2. Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice (2-0 D2) — The Warriors and Drake Martin spread the love in Friday’s dissection of River Rouge. Christian Marshall caught a TD, as did Tyler Trusel, who was apparently visiting LSU this weekend (and was offered, too) after 130 yards receiving with a TD and an interception in the Warriors’ win the day prior.

3. Orchard Lake St. Mary’s (1-1 D2) — The Eaglets remain absent of their starting kicker, and they move down a spot, but it’s tough to ding them too much for going three overtimes with (along with Warren De La Salle) one of the frontrunners in D3 this year in Detroit King.

4. Clarkston (2-0 D1) — Ty Duffy had a fourth-quarter score that allowed the Wolves to win Thursday night against another team on this list. Other seniors continue to step up, including Drew French, who caught a TD pass of 50-plus yards from Alex Waszczenko. They could be 4-0 going into back-to-back home games against Oxford and Lake Orion.

5. Walled Lake Western (2-0 D1) — Western absolutely went to town on Livonia Franklin in the LVC opener. Timon Dogan caught nearly half of David Krall’s passes and went for 166 receiving yards with two TDs. South Lyon will have its hands full with the Warriors this Thursday.

6. Oxford (2-0 D1) — Few teams in the OAA enjoyed their Week 2 division crossover more than the Wildcats, who went to Troy Athens and led by four scores by halftime. You can only play the teams in front of you, but it’s probably going to take beating a divisional opponent for Oxford to get the respect it seemingly deserves. That chance comes this week when Lake Orion visits Wildcats Stadium.

7. Stoney Creek (1-1 D1) — There’s no sense in dinging the Cougars. No team in the OAA had a tougher crossover assignment this week than they did, and when last week’s storm forced them to have to play Clarkston away from home, they went toe-to-toe with the Red Division’s favored side. The Cougars will now play all four of their White Division games in consecutive order, and they should be favored in all of them based on early results.

8. Farmington (2-0 D1) — Both teams had trouble scoring early, but the Falcons were ultimately productive enough on the ground and beat WL Northern by three scores last Thursday. This week’s game against Livonia Franklin could be an interesting measuring stick after the Patriots fell by 51 to WL Western.

9. North Farmington (2-0 D2) — Junior running back Logan Murphy had a pair of TDs and the Raiders were another team that were originally scheduled to host in Week 2, but went on the road due to power outages and still took care of business at Lakeland. They’ll host a fun one Thursday against South Lyon East.

10. Milford (2-0 D2) — The Mavericks were determined not to let 2026 go down the same way as last year, which included a pair of league defeats by a combined four points. So far, so good, especially with the season opener in which they beat Seaholm 30-13 at U of M. Freshman Bentley Moreno has been sensational (10 of 10, 168 passing yards and 4 TDs in Week 2). Bryce Marszalek and Zachary Tegler combined for nearly 140 receiving yards and four scores in their shutout of WL Central, while Jack Courtney and Juliano Iljazi tag-teamed for almost 150 rushing yards and three scores in the Week 2 win.
