A person was critically injured after being trapped underneath a Metro train Sunday in the Rancho Park community of west Los Angeles, authorities said.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 10:28 a.m. Sunday to 2600 S. Westwood Blvd., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The person, whose age and gender were not provided, was extricated from under the Expo Line train and rushed to a hospital in “at least critical condition,” according to the fire department.

Metro said the Westwood/Rancho Park Station was closed temporarily, with trains turning back to East LA at Palms Station. The agency was setting up a bus shuttle between the Palms and Expo/Sepulveda stations.
