A shot was fired aboard a northbound Metro A Line train in Long Beach Monday, causing a service delay between the Willow Street and Anaheim stations, officials said.
No one was struck by the gunfire, which occurred around 9:50 a.m. Monday near Long Beach Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Officers located the suspect and recovered a firearm, police said. The motive for the shooting remained under investigation.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation, according to Metro.
Service was interrupted between the Willow Street and Anaheim stations, but was later restored to its normal schedule.
