Intense waves and flooding at the start of the week were fueled in part by the effects of Hurricane Marie. Stormy conditions also caused the closure of the Junipero Beach parking lot access roads to the Long Beach Peninsula, except for residents.
Conditions remained ”dynamic, with a combination of high tides, storm surge, surf and swell,” as of Monday evening, LBFD officials said.
