Reedley College confirmed that Eady was a flight instructor, but that the crash did not involved one of their planes, and that no students were involved in the crash.

The college released the following statement:

On Saturday September 5, we were informed of the devastating news of the passing of flight instructor Danna Eady, who was involved in a plane crash in Fresno that afternoon. We were told the crash happened during an attempted takeoff from Sierra Skypark. Unfortunately, Danna passed away from her injuries at the hospital Saturday night. We were also told that two children passed away at the scene of the accident and an additional victim remains hospitalized at this time. This accident did not take place in one of our aircraft, nor did it involve any of our students. We defer all information regarding the specifics of the crash to the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board. Our flight science program is a very close group, and we will do everything we can to give them all the resources and time they need to grieve. All flight science classes will be cancelled on Tuesday, and we will offer counseling support to our students and staff for as long as they need it.Danna was an incredible instructor and a mentor to all of our flight science students, especially to the five young women who are currently in our program and consider her to be a role model and inspiration to fulfill their dreams of becoming pilots. “Danna was a valued member of our Flight Science Department, and a tremendous certified flight instructor,” said Reedley College President Dr. Jerry Buckley. “We will miss her greatly.”We will keep Danna’s memory alive through every student who passes our program and moves on to careers in the aviation industry. Her impact with us has left an everlasting impression that all of us can be extremely grateful for. We are heartbroken, but we will lean on each other to heal and move forward the best we can.

Now this isn’t the first time a plane has crashed in this area.
