No credible threat found in ‘Cat in the Hat’ social media trend at Taft Union High SD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Taft Union High School District said there is no credible threat tied to a “Cat in the Hat” social media trend, but security will be increased as classes continue as scheduled.

The Taft Union High School District said they were made aware of a “Cat in the Hat” social media trend that implied activity at or involving its campus.

TUHSD said they were working closely with law enforcement.

As of Tuesday morning, the school district said there is no credible threat or disruption related to the social media trend.

“School will continue as scheduled and students are encouraged to attend as usual,” said in a social media post by the school district. “As an added precaution, you may see increased security around campus.”
