The wrong-way driver, identified by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau as Daniel Romo Jr., was traveling westbound in the eastbound carpool lane of SR-91 near University Avenue around 9:31 a.m. Sunday when his brown Ford Flex struck a Honda Civic head-on.
The impact redirected the Honda into the center divider, while Romo’s vehicle continued into the second lane and collided head-on with a Toyota Corolla.
