Authorities Tuesday released the name of a 23-year-old woman who died after a traffic crash on an East Village-area freeway connector.
Kaya Ray of San Diego was taking the ramp from southbound Interstate 5 to eastbound state Route 94 when the sedan she was driving veered off the roadway for unknown reasons shortly before 11 p.m. Oct. 6.
The vehicle then struck a tree, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
Paramedics took Ray to Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest, where she died two days later.
