Long Beach will host the Second Chance Job and Resource Fair this week.
The Department of Economic Development and Opportunity, in collaboration with the U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services Office, will host the second-annual job fair for those looking to reenter the workforce. The career and resource fair is designed to connect job seekers with employers, according to a press release.
The free event will be take place from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Long Beach Workforce Innovation Network Adult Career Services Center, 4811 Airport Plaza Drive.
The career and resource fair will feature a variety of employers and hiring representatives, and offer opportunities for people with justice-involved backgrounds to learn about and get connected with meaningful pathways to employment and supportive services, the press release said.
Community organizations will also be present to offer specialized services tailored to the needs of the community – such as mental health, health care and housing, among others.
