BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Bakersfield police arrested seven people and cited seven others last Wednesday during a quality-of-life operation in downtown Bakersfield following complaints.
On Sept. 2, 2026, officers with the Bakersfield Police Department’s Impact Team led the operation, focusing on people accused of illegally camping or trespassing on property.
Police targeted several areas, including near Garces Circle, the 1700 block of Golden State Avenue and the railroad underpass in the 3000 block of Chester Avenue.
The seven people who were arrested were booked into the Lerdo detention facility. Seven others were issued citations on a range of allegations, including possession of unlawful paraphernalia, possession with two prior convictions after 5.5 grams of methamphetamine were seized, possession of a concealed dirk/dagger, refusing to leave private property, and felony and misdemeanor warrants.
