The man was riding a Teewing electric scooter south on Austin Boulevard in North Long Beach around 4:36 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, when he suddenly stopped at Saratoga Boulevard and was ejected over the handlebars, according to Long Beach police.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
Police did not release his name.
